Spring short vowel sorting activity. One that differentiates between the medial vowel. Sorts are some of the first activities my students do.
This resource includes both a short vowel cvc card sort and and interactive digital sort to be used with google apps, like google classroom. You will need some picture cards. Let’s discuss 5 easy short vowel.
For each vowel i have two different sorts. Using a house to practice open and closed syllables. Have students work with no more than 2 or 3 sounds at a time.
The worksheets include ten pictures to sort according to their vowel sound. An example of using a vowel intensive drill to practice short vowel sounds. This simple but effective activity is a quick way for students to practice distinguishing short vowel sounds.
